Shikshan Prasarak Mandal’s Br. B. K. College, Vengurla is established in June 1961. Our college is recognized as a good college for Sports in our District. “Education for the welfare of the masses “with this great vision and the growing need and demand, sports founder principal Hon. M.R Desai decided to establish sports Dept for keeping in mind the importance of health and physical fitness, for (a sound mind dwells in a healthy body) Former Faculty Member and Head of the Department was Prof. M. D. Vengurlekar till 1996. Then myself Prof. J.Y. Naik joined here as a Physical Director of the Department from 2^nd Dec, 1996.

1] To provide indoor game facilities to the students. We have field sports facilities; we could provide sufficient infrastructure to the student. But for indoor games, there is a need of separate hall.

2] Our college is recognized as a college of “Hilly and Rural area”. The college started Arts, commerce & Science faculty. The students of our college began to participate in the university sports from 1961.So main aim is to provide sports facility to rural areas student.

3] There is very little scope for the development of infrastructure in the present college premises. It becomes necessary to construct the playground, the multipurpose sports hall in the extended premises.
