Introduction:

The department of Mathematics and Statistics was established in 1961. Mathematics is taught to B. Sc.-I, B. Sc.-II and B. Com.-I. Statistics is taught to B. A.- I, B. A. II and B. Com.–I. Computer Programming is taught to  B. Com.-II and B. Com.-III. This department has 5 computers, 1 printer, 1 LCD projector and internet facility.

 AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

  • To enable the students to acquire the basic skills in Mathematics, Statistics and
    Computer.
  • To give clear understandings of concepts of Mathematics and Statistics.
  •  To encourage the students to use Mathematics and Statistics in daily life.
  • To prepare the students for various challenging careers.
  •  To provide better knowledge of Information Technology to the benefit of society.

The department plans academic matters at the beginning of the academic year. The Head of the department calls meeting of the department and different subjects relating to academic planning are discussed. Following aspects are discussed in these meetings.

  •  Teaching: Preparing teaching plan, discussion about the syllabus etc.
  •  Test: Conducting tests for the students.
  •  Syllabus completion: At the end of the semester / year syllabus completion report is submitted to the Principal.

FUTURE PLAN OF THE DEPARTMENT

  • To organize state/university level seminar/workshop.
  •  To develop well- equipped laboratory with higher configuration computers.
  • To start Short Term Certificate Courses like Certificate Courses in Tally, Excel etc.
  • Organize guest lectures to guide the students.
